Ian performed on stage at Microsoft's World Partner Conference in Steve Ballmer's keynote speech to an audience of 12,000 people and with over 50,000 watching online.

He is Founder and CEO of Nimbus, a rapidly growing software company with offices in UK, US and China, which delivers Process Mapping & Performance Management solutions to clients including Toyota, Unilever, JPMorgan, Novartis and HM Government. 

 

Nimbus has won numerous awards; D&T Fast50, D&T European Fast 500, Sunday Times TechTrack100 and REALBusiness Hot100. 

 

Ian's first book “Common Approach, Uncommon Results” explains what really makes a difference when driving business transformation programmes. It  is published in English and Chinese and is in its second edition.


His second book, published by Capstone/Wiley, "Why Killer Products Don't Sell" explains how to sell innovative products/services to corporates.


He is a serial entrepreneur having founded and invested in technology start-ups and he sits on the Microsoft UK Partner Advisory Council and the Microsoft Worldwide Software plus Services Partner Advisory Council.

 

A competitive dinghy sailor, he won his first National Championship aged 16.  At Southampton University he captained the 1st team which dominated University Team Racing.  In 1984 he sailed in the Olympic squad, and since then he has represented Great Britain at international regattas with successes at National and European level.

 

At Accenture (nee Andersen Consulting) for 12 years he specialised in project management of major business critical IT projects, and was seconded for over 2 years as one of the IT Directors for the DSS with a department of over 500 and a budget responsibility of £40m.
